Open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Open evenings and weekends for special events. Closed July and August.

The Fortnightly is conveniently located on Chicago’s Gold Coast, just one block north of Oak Street, and one-half block west of inner Lake Shore Drive. View Map.

Arriving by car: Please note that East Bellevue Place runs east-west from inner Lake Shore Drive to Rush Street and State Street. It is accessible from State and Rush Streets to the west and from southbound inner Lake Shore Drive to the east. East Bellevue Place is not accessible from northbound inner Lake Shore Drive. From northbound Michigan Avenue, turn left at Walton Street to Rush Street.

Arriving by Public Transportation: CTA bus route #151 has stops at Union Station, Millennium Station, and on Michigan Avenue to inner Lake Shore Drive. CTA bus route #36 stops at State Street and Bellevue Place. See rtachicago.com

House Accessibility

The wheelchair-accessible entrance is on the east side of the building. To use it, notify the office in advance and ring the doorbell at the ramp entrance. A staff member will come to assist.. An elevator serves the public floors. A wheelchair-accessible restroom is available on the third floor.

Fortnightly policies

Appropriate business attire is required for all members and guests. Jackets are required for men. Jeans may not be worn.

The Bryan Lathrop House is a smoke-free environment.

Cellular phones, laptops, PDAs, Wi-Fi and other devices may be used only in empty rooms on the second or third floor. They may not be used if other members or guests are present.
